Job Description: Director of District-Wide Programs and Operations/Nutrition Service Coordinator.

Qualifications:

1. Shall hold a bachelor's degree or higher and the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position.

2. Minimum of five (5) years successful classroom teaching and/or school administration experience.

3. Demonstrates successful leadership experience.

Performance Responsibilities

1. Supervises and facilitates district programs in the areas of facilities, safety, vocational education, adult/community education, alternative program, resource officers, daycare programs, board vehicle usage, and communication/public relations.

2. Implement, train, supervise, and support all programs.

3. Works to oversee all areas pertaining to facilities policies including but not limited to; Construction, FCC Regulations, Community Use, Security, and Property Insurance.

4. Serves as the Safe Schools Coordinator. Safety Committee, school, district safety plans including Central Office, Adult/Community Education, Transportation, and Maintenance.

5. Serve as a school liaison with outside community agencies, i.e. fire departments, law enforcement, emergency medical services, the Red Cross, hospitals and Emergency Management Agency.

6. Be an available resource to principals regarding all safety issues.

7. Supervises, facilitates and maintains records for fire, tornado and earthquake drills.

8. Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.

9. Keeps accurate records and makes reports that are required by regulations and statutes of the Kentucky Department of Education, Anderson County Board of Education and the Superintendent.

10. Meets deadlines for filing district reports.

11. Seeks to establish friendly and cooperative partnerships between home and school.

12. Work to present a positive image of the school to parents, and convey to them the school’s genuine concern with the education, growth and development of each student.

13. Seeks to develop a positive public relationship between the school district and the community.

14. Seek projects and programs to enhance community relations within the district.

15. Responsible for establishing and maintaining positive media relations regarding school and facility safety.

16. Works with the Alternative School in the placement of students and monitor their

progress for the purpose of transition back into the regular school setting.

17. Maintains confidentiality of students and/or staff.

18. Assists in screening of certified and classified applicants as assigned.

19. Serves as OSHA Coordinator. Keep OSHA plan updated yearly.

20. Shall provide support to new district staff members through mentoring and providing resources.

21. Provide assistance to Instruction Supervisor for curriculum change at middle, high, and alternative schools.

22. Shall represent the district at various professional meetings.

23. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

24. Will fulfill the duties of Nutrition Service Coordinator.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Duties are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors.
