We are looking for a Director Social Responsibility to join our Social Responsibility team.

What you will do

  • Lead, develop and steer UPM’s group-level social responsibility agenda

  • Develop UPM’s social focus areas and related targets

  • Advise and collaborate across businesses and global functions to drive common objectives

  • Follow human rights developments, societal trends and best practices, and translate them into actionable improvements

  • Strengthen risk management, social performance and value creation through robust social responsibility work

  • Ensure the continuous development, motivation and professional competence of the Social Responsibility team

  • Represent UPM in company-level CSR initiatives and collaboration with key stakeholders

  • Contribute to wider Group-level activities such as responsible sourcing, HR, investment management, compliance and internal audit


Who you are

  • You have 10+ years of experience in an international business environment

  • You have in-depth knowledge of human rights and responsible sourcing

  • You can analyse complex information and identify key insights

  • You excel at managing diverse internal and external relationships and networks

  • You are effective in leading cross-functional and multi-stakeholder processes

  • You bring proven experience in leading teams

  • You have strong communication , influencing and presentation skills

  • You are well organized, analytical and solution-oriented

Additional information

This position is located in Helsinki, Finland .

This position is offered as a hybrid working model, combining remote work with regular on-site collaboration.


The position holder will report to VP, Responsibility .
