About the role
This role will provide professional administration support to enable the General Manager to manage their time effectively.
The Directorate Coordinator will coordinate a variety of quality and reporting activities to ensure the smooth running of the wider Surgical Services (Dunedin) and Radiology Directorate, including activities relating to managing all adverse events, patient feedback, complaints, Health and Disability investigations, OIA requests and all activities and communications that require drafting and sign out. They will also coordinate the collation of regular performance and accountability reporting, service level monthly reports and drafting of other report requests.
This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of procedures and effective systems for office administration, including providing Senior Administrative professional support to the wider Directorate teams.

About you
You will have previous experience in a high-pressure Senior Management Administration position preferably within the health sector.
To be successful in this role you will:
- have previous experience in a Senior Management Administration position preferably within the health sector
- have strong analytical and numeracy skills
- have excellent problem solving skills
- have strong written and verbal communication skills
- have advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge
- have excellent organising skills and project management coordination experience
- have the ability to manage the interface with the community and the media
- maintain an exceptionally high level of confidentiality
- have competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- have experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the PSA South Island Clerical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the National Health Administration Workers Pay Scale, Band 6 between $77,452 - $81,024 p.a dependent on relevant experience.
