Are you passionate about helping others in achieving their goals? Multiple shifts opportunities from Monday - Friday 8.45AM to 3.15PM. Then come join the team at genU! We are looking for Day Service Practitioner's to join our longstanding, purpose-driven, and values-based organisation to make a real difference in people's lives in Langwarrin and Rosebud.


  • The role will operate within genU’s Community Participation division, which was established to facilitate innovative, client-centred programs with a focus on building skills that will assist in achieving our participant's goals!
  • As a Day Services Practitioner, you will support our clients to undertake a range of daily tasks including personal and self-care, eating and maintenance of personal hygiene.
  • You will be proactive in promoting community inclusion through following up on community-based opportunities for our participants, based on their interests and hobbies.
  • You will also assist our clients to participate as much as possible in community activities. You will support clients in varying shift staff to client ratios from 1:1 or 1:3.

About You!

We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our ideal Day Services Practitioner will:

  • Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participant's abilities, strengths and circumstances.
  • Have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports.
  • Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
  • Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required.
  • Have experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.

You will need the following:

  • Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Training.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain;
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain;
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
