Disaster Recovery Business Analyst
The Department of Administration's Office of Technology and Information Services is the state’s central provider of IT services to state government agencies. We are seeking a talented Disaster Recovery Business Analyst to join our team. This role is an integral part of our Disaster Recovery team. In this role, you will assist with the management and oversight of multiple agency Disaster Recovery Services projects. Your efforts will focus on planning, implementing, and testing to ensure strategic goals are achieved. Responsibilities of the Disaster Recovery Business Analyst:
  • Assist senior team members in disaster recovery business impact analyses, gathering information needed to plan and implement agency disaster recovery services.
  • Participate in agency consultations to develop disaster recovery plans and workflows by analyzing business and technical requirements for the agency.
  • Recommend disaster recovery solutions and participate in activities with service vendors. Serve on project teams as point of contact for disaster recovery planning. Assist with annual disaster recovery plan updates and test exercises for the agencies.
  • Participate in system administration, perform quality control, and support the change control processes for the disaster recovery planning software tools.
  • Collect and maintain report data for service level agreements and metrics for state agencies and disaster recovery service contractors. Assist with Disaster Recovery Program documentation updates.
  • Provide input to and act as a resource for the development, implementation, maintenance and/or dissemination of standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, related to disaster recovery.
  • Stay abreast of disaster recovery business analysis methodologies and technology to ensure the State continues to utilize the most appropriate disaster recovery architecture, equipment, and services.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and experience in disaster recovery services. A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another relevant academic discipline may substitute for the required experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery industry standards and developing technologies.
  • Some experience with analyzing, designing, configuring, and supporting successful disaster recovery plans and workflows.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, operate in a project management framework. develop positive customer relationships, and support meeting budget and timeline objectives.
  • Ability to assist with the guidance of agency business and technical groups to ensure successful disaster recovery services planning for the agency.
  • An ability to gain consensus among stakeholders.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and analytical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to meet/obtain compliance requirements as necessary.
  • This position is considered essential for ESF-2 support, especially during emergency or weather-related events.
