Job Summary
The ideal candidate for this postion will be able to lift 50 lbs, have a class 5 driving license, computer skills be personable, have clearence for working with vulnerable people, and have lived experience as a Penelakut or local first nations community member. This position involves various tasks related to food distribtion, including travel to remote communities, cold chain management, client registration, resource refferals, loading, receiving, and maintaining inventory levels while adhering to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Ferry and travel costs are included. For the right candidate we will also provide some training.
Duties
- Supervise Distribution at Penelakut and Tussie Rd.
- Client Intake and Registration
- Give directions to, and work alongside volunteers.
- Maintain cold chain and food safety.
- Community liason, assesment and service impact reports.
- Recieve orders, manage inventory, load communities
- Report to Coordinator
Requirements
- First Aid, food safe and cold chain management training.
- Previous experience in a food service or social service environment is an asset.
- Must be computer friendly.
- Physical capability to engage in heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently
- Excellent people skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate well with the team
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $25.20 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week

- Monday to Friday
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Language:
- hul'qumi'num (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
