Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Belding, Michigan, Flat River Group, LLC is leading end-to-end ecommerce partner that works with vendors to take their businesses to the next level by accelerating ecommerce sales growth. We sell a variety of products as a 1st Party Seller, including toys & games, pets, baby, outdoor sporting goods, housewares, and more. Flat River Group has experienced incredible growth over the years and we now have 4 US-based distribution facilities.
The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for managing and leading all facets of the distribution center operations. Leading by example, they will drive a culture of employee engagement and operational excellence. The role includes managing multiple projects and personnel, contributing knowledge and developing leaders, performing analysis, developing solutions, justifying investment, managing implementation projects, integrating systems with processes, providing training, and measuring results. Initiatives will focus on improving current process efficiency, material flow, labor productivity, quality, safety and space utilization.
As part of this role the Distribution Center Manager will be responsible for the implementation of all company policies/procedures, employee safety and customer centric practices while ensuring company values and competencies are practiced throughout the facility at all levels. This individual will possess the ability to succeed by effectively directing, leading and coaching both direct and indirect reports creating a positive work environment while maximizing profitability.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Managing the distribution center operations while ensuring and maintaining direct, productive, and positive relationships between and among management and non-exempt associates.
Implementing continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost of operations and improve service level, capacity, productivity, and quality.
Managing the inbound and outbound movement of product into and out of the distribution center.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with the vendor community.

Participates in annual budget preparation and has full P&L responsibility for the distribution center.
Responsible for the hiring, development, and retention of distribution center staff to include the highest quality individuals to support continuous improvement, succession planning and future growth of the business.
Drive operational excellence and best practices to improve quality, service, cost, and safety.
Ensure all safety, regulatory, and compliance measures are met within company and global guidelines.
Develop, implement, and monitor KPI targets and goals.
Responsible for performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree, with a concentration in Operations Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred.
Minimum of seven years experience in distribution with at least three years in the top position within a distribution center.
Strong background in supply chain systems (i.e.WMS, Inventory Planning, ERP, etc.)
Experience in project management and demonstrated success in process improvement.
A proven track record of building and developing strong supply chain organization and aligning internal resources with external customer expectations.
Must possess outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Must possess strong leadership and employee relations skills with a focus on engagement.
High standard of integrity and reliability; able to build trust & loyalty with others.
