We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced learning administration professional to join the School of Graduate Studies in the role of Doctoral Experience Coordinator

The School of Graduate Studies is the central service division that manages and enhances doctoral programmes within the University of Auckland. The Doctoral Experience team within the School ensures that all 3000+ doctoral candidates have the skills, opportunities and knowledge to be successful in their doctoral programme and beyond.

This role provides customer focussed support to coordinate, liaise and organise the delivery, growth and evaluation of doctoral candidate and supervisor development and engagement activities and learning programmes, and contributes to the University-wide programme of work of the Doctoral Experience team. You will work collaboratively across the division and the University to develop and contribute to leading and participating in doctoral experience related projects and initiatives, and drive the effective utilisation of development resources and opportunities.

This is a great opportunity to work in a small supportive team and take on an interesting and varied role where your work will make a difference.

This is a full time 37.5 hours per week role on a permanent contract. The salary range for this role is $58,300 - $72,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

He kōrero mōu | About you

You will need the ability to deliver a customer focused and responsive service while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. You will need to be proactive, with the ability to identify potential issues/problems and ensure solutions are put in place before they occur. You will bring experience in a senior learning administration or customer service role in a large complex organisation. If you have a strong understanding of the doctoral programme and its life cycle, that would be a great advantage to this role.


Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Working experience (5 years+) in a senior learning administration or customer service role in a large complex organisation
  • Strong digital literacy skills
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Experience with event management or project co-ordination


Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team

The role will be reporting through to the Doctoral Experience Manager and you will be working with a close knit team of 5, where as a team you will be providing engagement and development opportunities for doctoral candidates and their supervisors. It’s a role that needs a lot of independence, where you can also work successfully with a team where a lot of your work is interrelated.
