Playful Paws is a busy dog daycare and training facility, located in Burnside. We are currently looking to hire full and part time daycare handlers to join our upbeat and charismatic team. We offer competitive wages and health benefits after the probationary period is completed.

In this role, you will be supervising the dogs, managing plays and ensuring the safety of all those attending. This includes dogs of all sizes and energy levels. Included in the daily tasks is a lot of consistent cleaning. Please keep in mind that while daycare can be fun, it is not just cuddling puppies. We are outside as much as possible and in our all-natural yard that can get messy. We are continuously cleaning up after dogs (this includes all bodily fluids), cleaning the facility and cleaning the yards. This is not a play with dogs all day kind of job.

Our ideal candidate will be someone confident, reliable, and that has an understanding and already existing knowledge of dog behaviour and dog body language. The physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes (3lbs - 170lbs), time management, and punctuality are essential skills to be a member of our team. We are asking for a minimum of 1 year experience in the industry with hands-on experience being an asset. Certifications in pet first aid, PACCC, dog training, dog daycare, or the veterinary industry will push your application to the front of the pile.

Our hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30am – 6:30pm, so long shifts are probable. Your ability to show up for your shift on time and consistently is a must. If you currently have experience in a daycare, kennel or a rescue facility we would love to hear from you. This position comes with a 6-month probation period.
