Domain Engineering Manager

YOUR ROLE

As the Domain Engineering Manager, you will drive the engineering strategy, quality and efficiency across IAG, developing tailored offerings for each domain (Retail, Intermediated, Insurance Platforms, Enterprise Services, and Data). Engage with senior stakeholders to address domain engineering priorities and challenges.

In this pivotal role, you will:

• Develop and Implement Strategies: Tailor domain-specific engineering strategies by collaborating with senior management and the broader engineering community ensuring industry leading platforms, tools and governance.
• Provide Technical Leadership: Lead in the areas of Cloud Hosting and Integration Platforms, Engineering Tooling and SDLC & Governance.
• Design Service Models: Continuously improve service models for each domain.
• Drive Architecture Decisions: Balance benefits, total-cost-of-ownership, risk, security and vendor management while driving engineering platform architectural decisions.
• Lead and Develop Teams: You will lead a team of senior engineering leaders to drive excellence through all facets of the Engineering Excellence domain. Foster an agile culture and support team growth.
• Manage Budget: Ensure financial KPIs are met.

This is a permanent position open to candidates located in Sydney, Melbourne or Auckland.

ABOUT YOU

• Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to engage and interact effectively with a range of business stakeholders including technical and non-technical personnel
• Subject matter expertise (over 12 years) in Software Development, CI/CD technologies and Cloud Solutions Architecture. E.g. micro-services, serverless, zero-trust, multi-cloud, secure-by-design, data engineering etc.
• Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux) and associated programming/scripting languages such as Python, TypeScript, Java, JavaScript, Go, .NET, Bash, SQL, etc.
• Proficiency designing CI/CD pipelines at scale using tools such as GitHub, Actions, and Advanced Security, implementing DevSecOps best practices.
• Extensive experience designing architectures to support cloud applications including observability, monitoring and alerting (e.g. AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, NewRelic), open tracing and search tools (e.g. ELK, Grafana, Splunk), advanced knowledge of security tools (e.g. Orca, GitHub Advanced Security, Tenable) etc.
• Experience with large scale integration platforms.
• Experience designing and implementing an SDLC in a large enterprise.
• Experience working with data analysis and related technology e.g. REST, GraphQL, SQL, PowerBI.
