Door Fitter

Job purpose

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Steel Door Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining steel doors in various social, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in door fitting, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Duties and responsibilities

• Accurately measure and fit steel doors and frames to meet specifications.
• Install a variety of steel doors, including fire-rated, security and industrial doors.
• Adjust, align and secure doors to ensure smooth operation and adherence to safety standards.
• Work with a range of power and hand tools for precise installation.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance of existing steel doors as required.
• Co-ordinate with team members to understand specific requirements and provide clear communication on the job progress.
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards and complies with relevant building codes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a door fitter, preferably with steel or metal doors.
• Proficient with tools and machinery related to door fitting, including drills, grinders, levels etc.
• Strong understanding of building codes and safety protocols.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy doors.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• CSCS Card
• Availability to work away from home.

Other Information

This is a permanent role we are offering which is close proximity to Wigan, however, nationwide travel will be required. The rate of pay we are offering is £15.00 - £18.00 per hour depending on experience, based on a 37 hour working week.

We will also provide you with a company van and mobile phone.

Pay: £28,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
