POSITION SUMMARY
The DOT Supervisor will oversee of all DOT compliance with federal, state, customer and Company DOT and CMV standards and policies.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure the successful delivery, implementation, administration and refinement of both Department of Transportation and Commercial Motor Vehicle policies, procedures and best practices.
- Act as a liaison for analysis, documentation, communication and implementation of corrective actions for any issues out of compliance.
- Monitor and maintain the DOT driver qualification programs for drivers, including CDL, CMV and non-DOT drivers.
- Oversee, maintain and retain DOT program documentation as required by law.
- Identify trends and training gaps, complete appropriate training and document participation.
- Audit, maintain and ensure driver time-keeping and hours of service logs are accurate.
- Ensure proper follow through on all commercial vehicle accidents which includes accident investigations, recording of all DOT recordable accidents and ensure DOT post-accident testing is administered.
- Oversee the vehicle maintenance program to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Perform regular reviews of changes in state and federal regulatory standards in order to develop, recommend and implement new and up-to-date policies and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated success developing and monitoring transportation standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well and efficiently with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, planning, and coordinating initiatives across an organization.
- Working knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills, a high level of motivation and the ability to work independently will be essential.
- Strong knowledge of the DOT and FMCSA Regulations.
Minimum Required Education
- Class A CDL - Required
- High School Diploma - Required�
- Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
