Job Title: Draughtsman / Architectural Draughtsperson

Department: Design / Architecture / Engineering

Reporting To: Architect / Project Manager

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview:

The Draughtsman is responsible for preparing accurate, detailed, and well-coordinated architectural and structural drawings, ensuring compliance with design standards, technical specifications, and construction requirements. The role involves coordination with architects, engineers, site teams, and consultants to translate design intent into executable drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drawing Preparation & Documentation

• Prepare architectural, structural, and interior working drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
• Create presentation drawings, 3D views, and submission sets for approvals (BBMP/BDA/RERA etc.).
• Develop shop drawings and as-built drawings post site execution.
• Maintain drawing registers and version control (revisions, issue logs, approvals).
• Draft coordination drawings integrating structural, electrical, plumbing (MEP) inputs.

2. Coordination & Review

• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and site teams for technical clarifications.
• Ensure that all drawings are as per latest revision and reflect approved design.
• Support site execution by providing quick revisions, clarifications, and detailed working drawings.
• Assist in quantity take-offs (BOQ) and estimation from drawings when required.

3. Compliance & Standards

• Follow company drafting standards, layering systems, and title block formats.
• Ensure drawings comply with local building codes, by-laws, and safety norms.
• Maintain proper documentation for all drawings, approvals, and drawing communications.

4. Digital Drafting Tools

• Prepare and edit drawings using AutoCAD, SketchUp etc. and MS Office tools.
• Maintain organised digital folders and backup of all drawing files as per company’s file structure SOP.
• Use plot styles, scales, and sheet setups correctly for presentation and submission.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and any other preferred architectural/ engineering software.
• Strong understanding of architectural detailing, materials, and construction methods.
• Basic knowledge of structural and MEP drawings.
• Eye for precision, neatness, and clarity in drawings.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver on deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / ITI in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• 2–7 years of experience as a Draughtsman in architectural / real estate / construction projects.
• Experience with residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
