Position Overview:

The Driver / Shipper-Receiver, reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, is responsible for operating the Company’s vehicles (cube truck, flatbed truck, and pickup trucks) to transport cargo between facilities and other specified destinations in compliance with company policies and all applicable traffic regulations and assisting in building maintenance at any ADJ Industries Inc. and related properties.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

· Operates company vehicles to transport cargo between ADJ Industries Inc. facilities or related properties and other specified destinations, following all applicable traffic regulations (i.e. Highway Traffic Act).

· Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles per MTO guidelines.

· Using an industrial forklift, properly loads and offloads cargo ensuring cargo is secured in a safe and reliable manner to prevent damage.

· Verify that correct product and amounts as listed on the work order/packing slip are accounted for when loaded or delivered.

· During loading and unloading procedure ensures the brakes of truck are set and wheel chocks placed under the rear wheels to prevent the trucks from rolling while they are boarded with powered industrial trucks.

· Maintains telephone contact with base or Supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.

· Promptly reports any delays due to break downs, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies that will affect pick up or delivery of cargo.

· Reports all accidents and incidents of equipment damage involving driver or company equipment.

· Maintains records required for compliance with company requirements and applicable provincial and federal regulations including bills of lading, driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, etc.

· Responsible for interior and exterior repairs on all properties such as patching, carpentry, painting, eavestrough repair, tiling, flooring, pressure washing, yard cleaning.

· Travel within Ontario is required.

· Verifies and records quantities of materials received, ensuring accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders.

· Assists with packaging finished products for shipping and receiving

· Performs light cleaning duties on the shop floor, such as sweeping, dust removal, and general tidying, to maintain a safe and organized workspace

· Maintains cleanliness of forklifts and pallet walkies by regularly removing dust, debris, and grease to ensure safe operation and to extend equipment lifespan.

· Performs routine upkeep of forklifts and pallet walkies, including wiping down equipment, checking and topping up fluid levels, inspecting tires and forks for wear or damage, and ensuring batteries are charged.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Administration

· Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures, and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.

· Sets a positive example by maintaining a respective attitude, cooperating with co-workers, management, and internal and external customers.

· Be a productive team member and help to meet established departmental and Company goals.

· Wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required

·Report any personal workplace injuries to direct supervisor immediately.

· Report safety issues to direct supervisor or EHS Manager as soon as possible.

· Responsible for knowing where non-hazardous waste collection containers are located and for putting non-hazardous/hazardous wastes in appropriate containers.

· Report to work for your regularly scheduled shifts on time and ready to work.

· Follow all company policies and health and safety procedures.

· Effectively gives and receives feedback and willingly asks questions and seeks direction when needed.

· May work any and all shifts/days as required and may be asked to work between ADJ facilities and related properties.

Qualifications:

· Must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Security Assessment Application as per Section 15 of the Controlled Goods Regulations, SOR/2001-32.

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· 2 years commercial driving experience.

· Must possess a valid Class D Driver’s License, Clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.

· Z air brake endorsement an asset

· Sound knowledge of London and surrounding area.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to be self-motivated and work unsupervised.

· Forklift certification an asset.

Pay: $21.00-$24.50 per hour
