JOB TITLE: Shipping / Receiving Associate and Driver

Job Summary:

The Shipping, Receiving, and Driver is responsible for ensuring the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and delivering products to customers or vendors in a timely manner. This role combines logistics coordination, warehouse management, and driving duties to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions.
• Oversee loading and unloading goods from trucks or other conveyances.
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
• Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
• Maintain internal, manual, or computerized record-keeping systems.
• May operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards in handling materials and operating equipment.
• Safely transport goods to and from designated locations using company vehicles.
• Verify and secure loads to ensure safe transport.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid chauffeur license
• Pass a DOT physical examination (company willing to cover cost to obtain)
• Experience in shipping, receiving, and/or delivery roles.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
