Duty Manager Position at View Sydney Hotel

Located in the heart of North Sydney, View Sydney is celebrated for its stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the Harbour Bridge. With 213 guest rooms, the property caters to a high volume of corporate travelers, families, and loyal returning guests. While the hotel reflects its rich history, we take pride in delivering exceptional hospitality and memorable experiences for every guest.

Position: Duty Manager

Role Overview:
As a Duty Manager at View Sydney, you will be at the forefront of our daily operations, ensuring seamless service and collaboration across departments, including Front Office and Food & Beverage. This hands-on leadership role requires a focus on guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and the ability to manage a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight: Maintain a visible presence in guest areas, ensuring smooth operations and addressing issues promptly.
  • Guest Relations: Handle guest queries and complaints with professionalism and a hospitable manner, striving for positive outcomes.
  • Upselling: Actively contribute to the hotel’s upselling initiatives to enhance revenue and guest experiences.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and support team members across departments, ensuring optimal staffing levels and effective shift handovers.
  • Emergency Response: Serve as the first point of contact during emergencies, manage situations effectively, and complete detailed incident reports.
  • Training & Development: Conduct training sessions on security, fire evacuation procedures, and service standards to ensure team readiness.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial transactions, manage floats, and ensure accurate record-keeping.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Duty Manager in a high-volume hotel operation.
  • Experience working with the HMS Infor Property Management System.
  • A warm and caring attitude with exceptional guest service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Availability to work on a rotating roster, including PM shifts, nights, public holidays, weekends, and overnight shifts.
  • Unrestricted, valid Australian working rights.
  • A current NSW RSA and First Aid qualification (desirable).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $71,000.00 – $76,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Public holidays
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • North Sydney, NSW 2060: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Front desk: 2 years (Required)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (Required)

Work Location: In person
