Now Hiring: Duty Manager – The New Fox & Hounds, Ballyvolane

The newly redeveloped Fox & Hounds is getting ready to become Ballyvolane’s newest destination bar for the over-21s. As we prepare to open, we’re looking for an experienced and dependable Duty Manager to support day-to-day operations and lead service during peak times.

This is a key role for someone confident managing shifts, motivating staff, and maintaining high standards while ensuring every customer has a great experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the venue during assigned shifts
• Lead front-of-house team, ensuring smooth and professional service
• Supervise staff breaks, timekeeping, and task delegation
• Handle customer issues and complaints with a calm, solutions-focused approach
• Ensure hygiene, health & safety, and licensing compliance at all times
• Perform opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and end-of-day reports
• Support the bar and floor staff with hands-on service as needed
• Report to senior management and assist with continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a supervisory or duty management role in a busy bar or hospitality venue
• Excellent people management and communication skills
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
• Confident dealing with customers, staff, and operational challenges
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• A proactive mindset with the ability to lead by example
• Experience in stock control or food service (advantageous but not essential)
