The 4-star Maritime Hotel in Bantry is seeking a proactive, people-focused Duty Manager to join our experienced and dynamic management team. This full-time, year-round role is ideal for someone with supervisory experience in hospitality, retail, tourism, or similar, who is ready to step into a more senior and varied operational leadership position.

About The Role

As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel. This is a hands-on role supporting all departments and ensuring consistent delivery of excellent service, guest satisfaction, and operational standards.

You’ll work closely with the Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Events teams, while also being a friendly face for guests seeking information about the hotel, Bantry, or the broader West Cork area.

Full training will be provided to help you excel in this cross-departmental role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all departments while on duty, ensuring standards and service delivery are consistently met
  • Monitor and adjust staffing levels in response to business needs
  • Ensure meeting rooms and banqueting spaces are prepared and presented to standard
  • Proactively engage with guests, offering assistance and local insights to enhance their stay
  • Respond professionally to guest feedback, resolving issues where needed
  • Complete end-of-shift administration, including:

    • Passover reports

    • Incident logging
    • Fire and security walks

Qualifications & Skills

  • Essential: Food & Beverage experience is essential for this role
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in hospitality, retail, or tourism
  • Preferred: Experience in a food & beverage supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Friendly, approachable, and naturally guest-focused
  • Capable of managing fast-paced situations and slowing down for meaningful guest interactions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in standard IT systems and admin processes
  • A team player who can also work independently and take initiative
