Role Overview
We are rapidly scaling our e-bike division and looking for a high-performing Sales and Category Lead. This is not a passive retail role; it is a growth-focused position for a technical expert who can sell, troubleshoot, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of a bike purchase. You will be responsible for taking the lead from initial inquiry to final delivery, ensuring every customer receives a high-performance consultation while maximizing revenue through technical upselling and service subscriptions.
Key Responsibilities
1. High-Performance Sales & Consultation
- Technical Lead Management: Proactively reach out to website applicants to conduct comprehensive needs assessments. You must know every component—from motor torque to sensor types—to recommend the perfect build.
- Aggressive Conversion: Drive the conversion of leads into sales with a focus on meeting and exceeding monthly and quarterly targets.
- Customer-Centric Upselling: Ensure every customer is equipped with the best possible gear for their specific use case (locks, lighting, trailers, etc.). The goal is total customer satisfaction by providing the right solution for their requirements, while simultaneously driving high Average Order Value (AOV).
- Subscription Growth: Achieve a high conversion rate on LOCO Care subscription packages, ensuring recurring revenue is baked into every hardware sale.
2. Operations, Logistics & Inventory
- End-to-End Fulfillment: Manage incoming inventory from manufacturers and ensure the store display reflects current stock levels.
- Logistics & Communication: Keep customers meticulously updated on delivery timelines and proactively manage any delays. You will be the point person for managing shipping partners and organizing customer collections or deliveries.
- Supply Chain Liaison: Deal directly with bike manufacturers to ensure we have a constant flow of inventory and a robust stock of spare parts for maintenance and repairs.
3. Remote Troubleshooting & Technical Authority
- Technical Problem Solving: Use your common sense and deep mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot customer issues remotely via Zendesk or phone. You should be able to diagnose many issues before the bike ever needs to enter a workshop.
- Product Mastery: You are expected to know exactly what goes into every bike we sell. You will create and deliver the training materials required to ensure all staff meet your high standards of product knowledge.
The Profile: Expertise & Grit
- Bike Authority: You have extensive experience in the bike industry. You don't just "know" bikes; you understand the mechanics, the electronics, and the market.
- Closer Mentality: You are highly confident in your selling ability. You enjoy the process of overcoming objections and closing a deal.
- Operational Intuition: You have the common sense to manage a complex workload. You can spot a potential delivery delay or a stock discrepancy before it becomes a crisis.
- Admin Rigour: You are strong on admin, ensuring Zendesk tickets are closed, Cycle to Work vouchers are processed efficiently, and quotes are followed up on relentlessly.
Requirements
- Proven Track Record in Technical E-Bike Retail (3-5+ Years): You must have experience working within a specialist bike retailer or manufacturer, with a deep understanding of the Bosch, Shimano, or Bafang ecosystems. You should be able to explain the real-world performance differences between various motor/battery configurations and troubleshoot electronic drive-system errors over the phone.
- Cycle to Work (CTW) Proficiency: Extensive experience navigating the Irish Cycle to Work scheme, including direct experience with major third-party providers and the specific administrative requirements for cargo-bike versus standard e-bike price caps.
- Category Management & Logistics: Experience in managing stock levels and supplier lead times. You must be able to demonstrate a history of managing "work-in-progress" orders where you had to maintain customer satisfaction during supply chain delays.
Targets & Performance Incentives
This is a growth-driven role with significant upside for a high achiever. Your performance will be measured against:
- Sales Volume: Achievement of departmental revenue targets.
- Conversion Rates: Lead-to-sale, Cross-sell (Accessories), and Upsell (Higher-spec models).
- Service Attachment: Conversion rate for LOCO Care subscription packages.
- CSAT (Customer Satisfaction Score): Maintaining elite feedback scores through expert advice and proactive communication.
