Early Childhood Educator / Daycare Worker

We are looking to hire energetic individuals to join our team at Springbank Cottage Childcare LTD. Our center caters to children ages 3 – 12. We have three different programs, including Daycare, a program specialized for Kindergarten aged children, and Before and After School care. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with children, possesses strong leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and punctual.

Must have an ECE a Level 1, 2, or 3.

Salary: Starting from $16.50 (depending on Level)

Government Top up: Level 1=$2.64 per hour, Level- 2 = $5.05 per hour per hour on top of hourly wage.

Job Types: Full-time 40 hours per week, or Split-shift 7-8:45am and 2:45-5:45pm, or 2:45-5:45pm.

PLEASE NOTE OUR LOCATION - WE ARE ACROSS THE ROAD FROM CALAWAY PARK IN SPRINGBANK -- THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE - APPLICANTS MUST DRIVE AND HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE.

Qualifications:

• Must be knowledgeable in childcare related issues including appropriate and effective management and implementation of discipline and best standard of practice.
• Must possess at least a Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 1
• Work experience preferred in a childcare field but not necessary for the right applicant who demonstrates a passion for childcare.
• A current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (dated no earlier than 6 months prior to start date).

Program Duties include and are not limited to:

• Ensuring the safety and welfare of each child and support staff.
• Helping to coordinate the planning and implementation of age-appropriate programs to enhance the child’s social, physical, intellectual, cognitive, and emotional development.
• Incorporate learning experience designed to meet the individual needs of the children.
• Vigilant monitoring of children to ensure safety during play.
• Organizing various indoor/outdoor activities that encourage sharing and safe interaction with the other children.
• Assisting with the cleaning and straightening of the rooms and facility in accordance with Alberta Health Standard Regulations.
• Communicating effectively with staff, children, and parents.
• Track information including attendance, sign-in/out sheets, and student counts always.
• Cleaning building, rooms and toys. Following staff cleaning schedule.

Other Duties Include:

• Working with qualified staff to maintain and improve centers programming and ensure its compliance with Alberta Childcare Regulations.
• Maintaining open lines of communication with other staff members and colleagues.
• Attending and participating in regular staff meetings.
• Looking for an energetic individual able to engage with the children. Must be able to walk to and from the schools and play outside with the children.
