Job Summary
Hands On Learning is looking for a full time on site administrator to fill the position as Head Teacher while working as an early learning childhood educator at our Saint John centre. The Head Teacher leads a daycare team in providing high quality care and learning opportunities for young children. This includes curriculum development, classroom management, knowledge of ratios and managing staff schedules. Strong knowledge of New Brunswick's policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• QIP's for the centre
• Work closely with staff to ensure age appropriate lesson plans are aligned with curriculum standards.
• Maintain Ratio's throughout the day and ensure all staff are preforming duties
• Monthly fire drills are completed along with other checks for building maintenance, playground, emergency lighting/exit signs are done and recorded
• Maintain accurate records of children's and staff folders
• Ensure safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times within the classroom and a proper cleaning schedule is kept
• Work closely with Director and Office Manager on staffing, class groups and overall performance of the centre.

Skills

• Proficiency in English
• Must have ECE Diploma
• Must have criminal record/vulnerable sector check and first aid certificate with AED/CPR (level C).
• Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff
• Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation efficiently
• Time management skills to balance planning, instruction, and administrative tasks effectively

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.39-$28.33 per hour
