We are currently seeking Child Development Educators (Level 1, 2, or 3) for a Canada Summer Jobs contract running from June to the end of August (Possible start May).

Position: Centre Support (Float Staff)
Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Canada Summer Jobs Contract)
Duration: June – August
Location: Glenora Child Care Society and OSC 10530 138 Street and 10405 142 street.

About the Role:
As a Centre Support (Float Staff), you will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children across all age groups. You will work collaboratively with our dedicated team, stepping into various classrooms as needed to support daily routines and activities.

The candidate must be meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility:

To be eligible, youth must:

• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period ;
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

The candidate must also possess excellent verbal communication skills.

Other duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Facilitate the development and behavior of children.
Develop, implement and evaluate programs.
Support the holistic development of all children.
Meet health, safety, and well-being needs.
Additional Cleaning
Meet nutritional needs.
Guide children’s behaviour.
Operate and maintain facilities.
Form collaborative partnerships with families.
Use community resources.
Work as a member of a team.
Conduct self professionally.
Maintain records for Alberta Child Care regulations and licensing.

*Salary is NOT inclusive of wage enhancement*

Base Salary:

$19.00 /hour

Qualifications:
Child Development Certificate Level 1,2 or 3
Must have (or be willing to obtain) Child Care First Aid/CPR, a Child Intervention Check and a Criminal Record Check
Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Must be able to work a 9-hour shift (1-hour break) between 7 AM and 6 PM
