The Opportunity:

We’re hiring an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to lead field operations on our job sites. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing crews, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification. If you’re safety-driven, organized, and experienced in heavy civil construction, we’d like to hear from you.

Requirements For This Position Are:

  • Ensure overall site safety compliance in accordance with company policies, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) regulations, and client expectations.
  • Supervise and lead a crew of equipment operators and labourers in all job site activities.
  • Interpret project drawings, survey layouts, and plans to ensure accurate execution of work.
  • Coordinate and verify all utility locations prior to excavation, grading, or ground disturbance.
  • Organize manpower, equipment, and materials to meet daily and weekly production targets.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, inspectors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor work quality to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Track daily job site progress, maintain accurate records, and submit timesheets and equipment logs.
  • Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Train and mentor crew members in safe, productive, and efficient work practices.
  • Adapt to changes in project scope or schedule and adjust plans as required.
  • Collaborate with clients, pipeline representatives, and external stakeholders throughout project execution.
  • Operate heavy equipment as required.
  • Must have experience with scraper and rock truck crews.

Qualifications: Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 Years Supervisor experience required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test upon request.
  • GPS machine control experience.
  • Experience completing daily reports and timecards.
  • Proficient in operating various types of heavy equipment.
  • Experience working on busy job sites with scrapers, dozers, excavators, and other heavy equipment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage crews effectively.
  • Willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts and a 12-days-on rotation (weather permitting).

Special Demands:

  • Work is performed in a fast-paced, high-traffic construction environment with multiple pieces of heavy equipment operating simultaneously.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of equipment and navigate uneven terrain throughout the shift.
  • Long hours and physically demanding conditions are expected, including exposure to varying weather conditions.

Pay: From $44.00 per hour
