ECAD Librarian for Cadence Allegro

This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

We are looking for an ECAD Librarian to join our global library team. This position is for our Bangalore location only.

As a member of our global ECAD Library team, you will be working closely with other librarians and fellow schematic and PCB designers across the globe.

You will develop and maintain Allegro PCB layout footprints and Cadence System Capture schematic symbols for new and existing physical, electrical, and mechanical components.

Your daily work will include working with various teams in hardware design, layout design, and component engineering, as well as manufacturing, operations and mechanical design teams as needed.

• Develop new footprints in Allegro for new components varying in size and complexity from small components to connectors and large pin count FPGAs and ASICs
• Work closely with other librarians on new Allegro footprints for new electrical and mechanical components, directly from component datasheet specifications while applying company design standards
• Follow existing part creation processes, and help test and implement new processes for footprint and symbol creation/approval/release
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Operations teams to confirm or update existing symbols or footprints to match evolving new technologies and new requirements
• Work with Component engineers to get clarifications on new components, datasheet specifications, or acquire alternate vendor datasheets
• Use existing Part Number Request tool to view new part requests, anticipate and organize upcoming work, and collaborate with other librarians in your team
• Prioritize urgent requests and maintain focus on highest priorities while keeping track of other requests and priorities in the queue
• Maintain a high level of enthusiasm and desire to see HPE succeed, by providing timely and accurate library parts and a responsive relationship with internal customers

What you need to bring:

• Bachelor of EE or related discipline with 10+ years of experience as ECAD Librarian
• Proficient with footprint creation in Cadence Allegro
• Familiar with schematic capture symbols in Viewlogic and Cadence System Capture
• Skilled in researching and reading manufacturing datasheets, able to find and extract pertinent information for symbols and footprints
• Experienced in high pin count, fine pitch parts, QFN modules: BGAs, connectors, power modules, heatsinks/clips, EMI Cages, light pipes
• Knowledgeable in footprint creation guidelines and standards, general industry approaches and best practices
• Must have timely response, take pride in high level of accuracy and precision, and great attention to detail
• Able to work well in a global, fast paced environment (dealing with teams in India and U.S.)
• Self-motivated team player, flexible and ready to adapt to varying workloads and task requirements
