The Opportunity
This position is ideal for an experienced cardiac sonographer who enjoys working in a collaborative outpatient environment alongside physicians and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will work two days per week and will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic examinations while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Compensation: Will be commensurate with education and experience.
Work Location: 150 Katimavik Road, Kanata. (in person)
What You'll Do
Prepare patients for echocardiographic procedures by explaining the examination and answering questions.
Acquire accurate diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
Ensure all studies are completed efficiently while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
Work collaboratively with physicians and clinic staff to support timely patient care.
Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance concerns.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe examination room.
Follow all infection prevention and control procedures.
Perform other related duties as required.
What We're Looking For
Current registration in good standing with Sonography Canada and/or CARDUP (or eligible for registration).
Current certification in echocardiography.
Previous experience performing adult transthoracic echocardiograms.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and clinic staff.
Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to care.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and computer systems.
Must be permanently eligible to work in Canada (i.e., Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen) or have a Work Permit valid beyond 12 months (no sponsorships).
