For more than 100 years, AdvantAge Ontario has been the voice of not-for-profit seniors’ care in Ontario. We represent more than 480 providers of long-term care, seniors’ housing, supportive housing and community service agencies, including 98 per cent of all municipal long-term care homes and 83 per cent of all not-for-profit long-term care homes.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to support the Education Department during a busy period of program delivery and event preparation. This internship provides hands-on experience in event administration, digital learning platforms, and education program support.
- Assist with registration management for the annual Convention and other educational events, including data tracking, updates, and attendee support.
- Support maintenance and updates to education-related websites and online learning platforms.
- Assist with data entry, content updates, and testing within the Convention mobile app.
- Help ensure accuracy and consistency of information across registration systems, learning platforms, and digital tools.
- Provide related general administrative support to the Education team as needed.
Hours of work
Hours: 7 hours per day- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Can also offer flexible hours.
Skills & Competencies:
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands.
- Self-starter with motivation to complete tasks in line with established goals and standards.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- High attention to detail, particularly when working with registrations, data entry, and digital platforms.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify issues and support basic problem-solving related to event logistics and technology.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment is essential.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to successfully engage and interact with all levels of employees in a remote environment.
- Student must be able to travel to head office and an off-site location to support the annual Convention in Toronto. Student must have exclusive access to a computer (i.e., not shared with others)
Student Assets and Requirements
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant college or university program (e.g., Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing or Business Administration), or equivalent work experience.
