Permanent full-time | Commencing Term 3 I Level 3.3

See the story behind the data and use it to transform learning across our schools.

We’re looking for an Education Officer who can turn complex information into clear action, helping school leaders improve teaching, lift HSC to academic outcomes, and make smarter decisions every day. This role is about influence, impact, and results — not just reports.

If you thrive on collaboration, enjoy problem-solving, and want to leave a tangible mark on student achievement across the Diocese, this is your opportunity to step up and shape the future of learning.

If you can see the story behind the data and know how to act on it, we want to hear from you.

Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Education Officer – Educational Data and Performance provides strategic leadership in the effective use of learning and performance data to improve student outcomes across the Diocese. The role leads the design and implementation of interactive data dashboards that deliver actionable insights to inform school planning and system-level strategy. It provides expert guidance in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment, aligned with contemporary research, reformed syllabuses and diocesan priorities supporting primary and secondary educational outcomes.

Working collaboratively with CS Teams, the Data and Analytics Team, and school leaders, the Education Officer builds teacher and leader capability in analysing and applying assessment data to strengthen classroom practice and enhance academic performance. The role supports the coordinated delivery of evidence-informed initiatives, including professional learning and targeted HSC strategies, and monitors their impact to ensure sustained improvement. Through partnership with internal teams, CSNSW and external agencies, the Education Officer contributes to the development of system-wide approaches that enhance learning outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

In addition, the Education Officer ensures that the data products, insights and dashboards developed through this role directly strengthen system-led projects focused on improving student identification, growth and achievement. By producing high-quality, timely and actionable analytics, the role enables system
leaders to monitor patterns of learner progress, identify priority cohorts and target support where it will have the greatest impact. These data insights underpin coordinated approaches to HSC strategy, informing the design, implementation and evaluation of diocesan initiatives aimed at lifting performance and enhancing overall student achievement across schools.
