Job Summary:

An Educational Therapist is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs and between 2 - 14 years old. This role involves developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with therapists of other disciplines and parents, and utilizing a variety of teaching methods to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The goal is to ensure that each student achieves their highest potential in their academic, social-emotional development and daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Individualized Education Programs (IEPs):

  • Develop, implement, and review IEPs tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other professionals to ensure the IEPs are comprehensive and effective.
  • Monitor and document student progress towards IEP goals and make necessary adjustments.

2. Instructional Planning and Delivery:

  • Design and deliver differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, materials, and strategies to engage students and promote learning.
  • Implement assistive technology and adaptive equipment as needed to support student learning.

3. Classroom Management:

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support positive student behavior.
  • Foster social skills development and promote an inclusive classroom culture.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with general education teachers, aides, and other school staff to support inclusive education practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address concerns.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training related to special education.

5. Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct enrolment screenings to identify students' needs and measure their progress.
  • Use data to inform instruction and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required by school policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Additional certifications or prior experience in specific disability areas (e.g., Autism, Learning Disabilities) are a plus.
  • Fresh graduates may apply.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $3,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month

Work Location: In person
