Electrical Apprentice

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Apprentice Electrician. Must be 1st year or higher with some experience, to join our team in the Huntsville/Muskoka/Simcoe region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment and trouble shooting. As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work on residential, commercial and industrial projects. Solar experience an asset. Current Working at Heights, MEWP, WHIMIS, 1st Aid, Flash Gear, Lockout and Tagout training are assets. Wages are according to experience and will be discussed at interviewing.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Help with the installation of low voltage systems, including security and communication systems.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times.
• Follow the OESC (Ontario Electrical Safety Code), local building regulations, and OSHA.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of electrical systems and best practices.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.
• Familiarity with low voltage systems
• Able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Own transportation to shop.

Skills

• Basic understanding of electrical principles and terminology.
• Familiarity with industrial electrician practices is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints effectively.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely.
• Willingness to learn about low voltage systems and their applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
