ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Auckland Buildings Team are currently looking for a proactive Electrical BIM Designer to join the team. This position is aimed at someone who has extensive Revit experience working on a variety of buildings projects. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects including, commercial, healthcare, data centre, and educational buildings.
The successful candidate will handle the design and documentation of projects under the direction of Project Engineers. They will need to be able to proactively manage deliverables in consideration of project milestones varying requirements when working across multiple projects. This position is suitable for someone with previous experience who is looking to contribute to a growing team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Electrical, ICT, Security Revit experience working on buildings projects.
- Previous experience working in an Engineering Consultancy
- Understanding of BIM techniques utilising Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and clash detection software.
- Knowledge of BIM codes and standards.
- Knowledge of general BIM Model Requirements.
- Dedicated in pursuing continued development in Revit/BIM Design Package, and design understanding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
- Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to use initiative and think outside the box
- Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently once set a task
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare Electrical, ICT, and Security designs using Revit and AutoCAD
- Reliably support Engineers and PEs in completing projects
- Work closely and develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Execute design work within time constraints to a professional standard.
- Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures

Qualifications

To be successful for this role you'll need:
- Previous experience in a Consulting environment within the Building services industry
- Knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant Australian and New Zealand Standards
- Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification, and ideally a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in the engineering industry or consulting.
- Willingness to establish and maintain strong client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities
- Ability to multitask between project involvement and section performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working towards being a Chartered Professional Engineer (or equivalent) and/or Producer Statement Author would be favourable, but not essential.
