About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Switchgear & Control Designer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering switchgear and control panel solutions for industrial and process applications. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer with strong technical expertise in electrical design and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design LV/MV electrical switchgear systems and control panels to meet project specifications and industry standards.
• Produce accurate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings using CAD or similar software.
• Specify components, protective devices, and control equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop tailored solutions.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations, standards (IEC/BS/UL), and company quality procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support continuous improvement in design processes.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in switchgear/control design for industrial or process applications.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection principles, motor control, and distribution systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with relevant electrical standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
