Job Title: Automation Engineer – Manufacturing Repair

Location: Cork, Ireland (Will consider people based in Dublin for Senior Engineers)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting manufacturing repair operations. The successful candidate will be involved in designing, troubleshooting, and repairing automation systems, working with schematics and electronic circuits, and programming PLCs. • Diagnose and repair faults in automated manufacturing systems and electronic circuits.
• Design, modify, and interpret electrical schematics and control systems.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi).
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to resolve automation issues.
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of automation equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of work performed.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience with PLC programming languages and troubleshooting (ladder logic, structured text, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of electronics, circuit design, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable:

• Experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.
• Familiarity with robotics, SCADA, or HMI systems.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in manufacturing.

Salary & Benefits:

• Junior Engineer: €30,000–€45,000 per annum
• Mid-level Engineer: €45,000–€65,000 per annum
• Senior Engineer: €60,000–€80,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €40,209.82-€66,958.19 per year

Experience:

• PLC Coding: 1 year (preferred)

Work authorisation:

• Ireland (required)
