Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician job opportunity

Our rapidly growing INR (Imaging, Navigation, and Robotics) division is searching for an enthusiastic team member wanting to make a difference. Our team develops medical systems by working with top surgeons and cross-functional engineering teams. The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician will be responsible for setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical circuitry and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications. Familiarity with typical concepts, practices, and procedures within electro-mechanical engineering required. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under limited supervision. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. Must be positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, flexibility and maturity.

Primary Responsibilities

PCA assembly including purchasing components, soldering, repair and rework.
Prototype wiring subassemblies, terminal wiring, wire crimping, cable harnessing.
Electromechanical Assembly from CAD drawing using of hand tools, manual machining, and precision tools for building chassis. Includes mounting PCAs, power supplies, cabling, etc.
Manage the electrical engineering lab, maintain tools and test equipment including calibration, component stock etc.

Assist the engineering group with experiments to improve product performance and reliability.

Qualifications

Requires an associate’s degree in a discipline related to the position of electro-mechanical technician.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with GMP environment; familiarity reading, checking, updating Bills Of Materials, schematics, machine drawings.
Capable of documenting assembly processes.
Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Familiar with IPC A 610 and similar standards.
Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high degree of organizational and technical competence.
Ability to function well under pressure and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines.
Experience with large medical systems a plus (ex. surgical robotics, x-ray imaging, etc).
