The International University of Monaco is recruiting an Electronic Resources and Systems Librarian, who will be in charge of managing the library's resources, e-resources, and systems.
The Librarian will have to ensure optimized, continuous access to the library's databases, books, journals, and other resources through effective management and troubleshooting of all related systems.
PRINCIPAL MISSIONS:
· Facilitates e-resource connectivity, discovery, and maintenance issues by administering a range of library systems and services.
· Provides research assistance and instruction to students, faculty, and staff on-site and remotely.
· Configures and maintains library technologies supporting electronic and other resource access.
· Manages resource records, usage statistics, licensing terms, and other account and subscription information in consultation with the director.
· Assesses the effectiveness of electronic resources and identifies ways to make their access more effective and efficient.
· Participates in the evaluation, selection, deselection and ordering of materials in all media
· Creates clear and efficient workflows for all e-resource and other acquisitions and discovery tasks.
· Ensures the marketing of library resources and services, keeping users aware of new products/ services.
· Participates in international accreditation related projects and provides support in related missions, especially related to faculty intellectual contributions materials.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
· English Fluent, French proficiency, other language is an asset.
· Experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar position is required.
· 1st experience in a high education establishment or business school is an asset.
· Graduate degree in library management or/and information science program.
· Knowledge and understanding of integrated library systems (ILS) including cataloging, acquisitions, administration, and serials modules.
· Knowledge of best practices, current trends, and issues in electronic resources management.
· Ability to configure, maintain and troubleshoot the library ILS and other technologies sufficient to make e-resources and other acquisitions discoverable.
· Ability to provide research assistance and instruction to users : students, faculty, staff on-site and remotely.
· Proficiency with technology sufficient to create research tools and presentations.
· Capacity to build relationships with teaching faculty.
· Knowledge of scholarly communication issues
· Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
· Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a high comfort level with innovation and change.
· Strength of proposal, of animation and of implementation of electronic resources to support “online learning” activities
· Deployment of tools and resources available at the Group level in relation with Group support services
