- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility with various insurance providers.
- Document and accurately update patients' insurance and demographic details in the applicable EMR or practice management system.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve eligibility issues or discrepancies.
- Interpret insurance policy details to determine coverage applicability and inform patients of their financial responsibility.
- Handle pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as required by insurance policies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and billing codes (CPT/ICD-10-CM)
- Understanding of various insurance plans (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company/industry standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Detailed oriented knowledge of Utilization Review, eligibility and benefits, Prior Authorization/Pre Certification.
- Software – EPIC, TEBRA, CHARM, DR CHRONO, NEXTGEN FUSION
