Job Description


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Intelligence Analyst to join an embedded intelligence team within a client’s global security function, with a focus on the tobacco sector. In this role, you will assist the client in making crucial decisions about the safety and security of staff, assets, and operations in the APAC region. Your primary focus will be on geopolitical and security affairs, including politics, security, the economy, and business, particularly in South and Southeast Asia.

You will be responsible for assessing both short and long-term threats, vulnerabilities, and business impacts related to geopolitical developments. You will also support the implementation of security risk mitigation measures, producing intelligence products and briefings, and engaging with stakeholders to address and support their intelligence needs.

This is a fully remote role working Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm. There may be an occasional need to work out-of-hours during emergencies and time-sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor open-source and vendor intelligence feeds to assess geopolitical events in the APAC region that could impact the client’s workforce and business operations
  • Develop, deliver and refine a range of intelligence products to deliver proactive and in-depth analysis, and actionable insight, to internal stakeholders, including periodic reports and bespoke products
  • Brief stakeholders on key developments, trends and context
  • Refine intelligence requirements and deliverables by networking with regional and country security teams, to identify any intelligence gaps and support the growth of the intelligence function within the client’s company
  • Work closely with data analysis counterparts to translate internal data collection into analysis
  • Work closely with other functions to support the delivery of analysis and actionable insight, including supply chain security, travel security, emergency response and crisis management
  • Display innovation, implementing the latest techniques, tools and best practices to support a global intelligence function
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external networks
  • Be an effective member of a small team, focused on delivery of lean, high-impact services

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge and interest in current geopolitical affairs, international relations, APAC and South and Southeast Asia
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as International Relations, Security Studies, Journalism, Business Management
  • Approximately 8+ years of relevant professional experience in corporate strategic intelligence
  • Professional industry network, through membership to key global, regional and local intelligence sharing groups
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret and collect intelligence information and track threats and geopolitical developments and determine their impact to business staff, assets, operations and reputation
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and either X or X with a high attention to detail
  • Advanced open-source research and social media monitoring skills, and the ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Ability to rapidly digest, evaluate and “sift” large quantities of information
  • Ability to provide rigorous, objective and creative insight into complex situations
  • Ability to produce high-quality intelligence products within short deadlines, as well as analyse and report on long-term strategic assessments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to negotiate with and influence senior managers based on data and analytical outcomes
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a diverse and globally dispersed team
  • Ability to innovate and identify potential opportunities to enhance efficiency and/or effectiveness within own area of work, including developing own knowledge to increase effectiveness
  • Must have the right to work in Singapore
