The EMEA ECIF Opex Controller will be responsible for supporting ECIF (End-Customer Investment Funds) controllership at EMEA regional level. This will include project review and approval, supporting important P&L processes including Close, Forecasting & Planning, and driving ongoing actionable insights and AI enablement at scale. The role will sit within the EMEA FP&A team and will partner closely with the business enabling effective spend predictability and prioritization to drive growth and customer success across the Region.

Responsibilities
Prioritization
- Deploys the ECIF operating expenses budget with a focus on ROI. Conducts variance analyses, identifies trends across Areas, summarises findings and identifies opportunities for optimization. Drives clarity and holds accountability through enhanced ROI analytics.
- Assists in the execution of EMEA annual business planning and monthly / quarterly forecasting process. Completes analysis, modeling and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from relevant stakeholders.
- Provides business support and actionable insights during financial close periods by reviewing recurring financial statements, reporting, forecasts and presentations. Identifies trends and prepares summary analysis. Conducts variance analyses identifying causes and solutions. Collaborates to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.
- Drives and supervise various financial controlling related projects with the scope to simply and standardize.
Partnership
- Develops new approaches to leverage best-in-class technology (e.g. Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics) to accomplish goals including ROI analytics and scaled self-serve analytics. Contributes to efforts to implement technology to increase productivity and to support accurate conclusions.
- Provides recommendations to EMEA Financial Centre Community and to Area finance leaders for managing Profit and Loss (P&L), including discussions to optimize operating expenses.
- Ensure strong collaboration with the Business and MCAPS PnL Finance team for all opex / cogs related topics.
- Integrates varied data sources and assimilates the information into a comprehensive, clear narrative. Communicates results in a compelling and understandable message.
Protect
- Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial and budgetary reports to ensure accuracy and support of internal controls. Monitors control processes and procedures regarding accounting, stat, non-financial disclosures, tax, and regulatory filings. Recommends and executes corrective measures.
- Ensures collaboration between business stakeholders and internal audit team. Meets with internal and external auditors to discuss audit procedures, respond to questions, and provide information and records.
- Manages accounting and financial compliance, including the collection of data, accurate record-keeping, and coordinating with local Finance, Regional, and Corporate teams to implement accounting and reporting processes and ensure compliance with local legislations and statutory requirements. Advises and consults with peers and stakeholders regarding documentation, policy adherence, and sharing of financial data and information to minimize risk. Understands and adheres to financial compliance standards, Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Translates accounting, statutory, and regulatory changes to address impacts on business operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND several years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
OR
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND multiple years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, orfinance work experience or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience analyzing financial data and data modeling to inform business decisions.
- Successfully advised business leaders on financial decisions and communicated those insights to drive strategic actions.
