About The Role
This role sits within the Operations Support Team at Codeblue, supporting both the Events and Training divisions.
The successful candidate will be based in Cork and will work 30 hours per week providing scheduled EMT medical cover at a large third-level campus in Cork City (Bishopstown area). This provides stable, consistent core hours.
In addition, Codeblue will fully support the successful candidate to become a certified Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor. All associated costs will be covered, including:
- Course fees
- Travel to Dublin
- Overnight accommodation
- Required supervised teaching components
Following qualification, the successful candidate will deliver BLS courses in Cork and the surrounding region, creating an additional income stream alongside their core EMT hours.
Beyond this, the candidate will also have the opportunity to nominate themselves for additional event medical cover shifts. Codeblue provides medical services at events throughout Cork and nationwide. Participation in these additional shifts is entirely optional and based on personal availability and preference.

Duties & Responsibilities
EMT Medical Cover (Core 30 Hours Weekly)
- Provide scheduled EMT cover in Cork City.
- Maintain clinical standards in line with PHECC Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- Represent Codeblue professionally at all times.
- Develop positive working relationships with campus stakeholders.
BLS Instructor Development
- Complete a fully funded BLS Instructor course in Dublin.
- Successfully complete all assessment and supervised teaching requirements.
- Maintain instructor standards in accordance with awarding body requirements.
BLS Course Delivery (Post Qualification)
- Deliver BLS courses across Cork and surrounding areas.
- Create a professional, engaging learning environment.
- Ensure accurate course documentation and compliance.
Additional Event Work (Optional)
- Opportunity to nominate for additional EMT shifts at events locally and nationwide.
- Flexible participation based on personal availability.
Requirements
- Active PHECC Registration at EMT level.
- Based in Cork or surrounding area.
- Full clean driver’s licence (C1 desirable).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly, professional and attentive manner.
- Demonstrated reliability and strong organisational skills.
- Willingness to travel to Dublin for instructor qualification (fully funded).
Previous teaching or instructional experience is desirable but not required.
