As a Community Employment Specialist you will impact the lives of individuals with disabilities by helping them achieve their career goals!

This is a FULL TIME (40 hours per week) position.

You will be providing job development services in the Tifton community for individuals with disabilities by contacting employers and actively developing job opportunities and employer contacts.

You will provide good candidate/employer matches through the Discovery process, job analysis and employee interest.

You will provide job development, job seeking skills training, job coaching services and follow along services

You will maintain communication with employer, co-workers, family, service coordinator, other agencies, and supervisor.

This position provides career services to clients including job development, job placement, job coaching, job follow-up and re-training, as needed. As part of the employment services team, you will help design and implements Individual Plans that will lead to placement through supported employment with a community-based employer.

You will be responsible for the monitoring, documentation and programming of assigned individuals transitioning into community employment and to ensure supported employment retention.

Background check and a valid driver’s license required.

Dependable/ reliable transportation to and from training sites and job sites.

We will certify you in First Aid, CPR, MANDT (behavior management), and AAA Defensive Driving.

Hours are Monday through Friday, day hours with flexibility to cover occasional night and weekend training shifts.

Starting pay is $13.50 per hour DOE. Increase available pending completion of certification program if available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 21 years of age or older

High schoool diploma or GED REQUIRED. Degree in human service field and experience working with DD population preferred.

1 to 2 years work experience in job development and job coaching people with disabilities preferred.

Ability to verbally and professionally communicate effectively with job seekers, staff, and job placement sites.

Demonstrate writing skills to adequately perform all required documentation.

Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license. Proof of valid automobile insurance submitted annually.

Flexibility with Schedule.
