Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ENFERMERA/O to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care across various specialties, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and effective treatment. This role involves working in diverse clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient care, with opportunities to specialize in areas such as cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, or oncology. The ENFERMERA/O will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care while adhering to healthcare standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately following physician orders and protocols
  • Utilize EHR and EMR systems for documentation of patient information, care plans, and progress notes
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures such as CT scans, radiology, or laboratory tests as needed
  • Manage airway procedures and ventilator support for critical and neonatal patients
  • Provide specialized care in areas such as perioperative care, maternal-fetal medicine, or hospice & palliative medicine
  • Conduct wound care, ostomy care, and post-operative management
  • Support patient education on health coaching, medication management, and discharge planning
  • Maintain strict infection control practices and aseptic techniques in all procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians in clinical research or specialized treatments like botulinum toxin therapy or radiation therapy
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold patient confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

  • Valid nursing license (RN or equivalent) recognized by relevant health authorities
  • Proven experience in hospital settings or specialized fields such as cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, or oncology preferred
  • Proficiency with medical terminology and familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) is advantageous
  • Experience working with various EMR/EHR systems like Epic or similar platforms
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and clinical assessment techniques
  • Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification; additional certifications in advanced life support are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Prior experience in critical care, emergency medicine, ICU, or Level I/II trauma centers is desirable
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to healthcare standards
