Are you a financially savvy controller who thrives on turning numbers into clear stories and action? Do you enjoy partnering with a Project Management Office and senior stakeholders to keep high stakes engagements on scope, on time and on budget? If so, you might be the next key member of our new Engagement Controlling team within Deloitte Denmark Finance.

Deloitte Danmark Finance consists of Operational Finance (accounting), Corporate Reporting, Strategic Projects, and Business Finance. The Engagement controller team is a newly established specialist unit within the Business Finance team.

In total, Deloitte Finance are +40 committed and skilled employees who are well on their way to a positive transformation towards becoming even more proactive, business-oriented and value-creating for the management and the individual business units within Deloitte Denmark and Deloitte Nordic. Deloitte's Engagement Controller team is a specialist group that collaborates closely with Partners, Engagement Leaders, and the PMO to deliver world-class financial rigour to our largest client programmes. We work with the engagement team to define their projects' finances using advanced financial, budgeting, and forecasting models and techniques. By providing realistic cost estimates that account for the projects' phases and activities, we produce both best- and worst-case scenarios to ensure our projects remain on track and within budget. Additionally, we work together with the finance team to conduct invoicing and financial reconciliation, as well as continuous financial reporting to both Deloitte's executive team and project partners.

Along with the team, you will be responsible for supporting one or more engagement teams. You will be working with:

  • Shaping the deal: Build pricing models, stress test assumptions and challenge scope with PMO and bid teams.
  • Forecast with precision: Prepare and maintain rolling budgets and forecasts that reflect project milestones, resource plans and risk scenarios.
  • Keeping performance transparent: Develop dashboards and models that translate financials into clear KPIs for partners and project leads.
  • Bring method and structure: Understand and utilize standard processes for project management, quality management, and risk management.
  • Tell the story behind the numbers: Present insights to senior internal – and occasionally external – stakeholders, both locally and internationally, offering recommendations that steer the engagement.
  • Strengthen controls: Design and implement financial governance processes that ensure data quality, compliance and audit readiness.
  • Grow the practice: Help shape our Engagement Controlling playbook, mentor colleagues and pilot new digital tools.

Qualifications


You are professionally and analytically strong, have a personal drive, good communication skills, and you are passionate about being part of a strong team. You excel in collaborative environments, even when faced with unforeseen circumstances and tight deadlines, ensuring lasting value creation and fostering professional relationships. Your ability to thrive in an exciting and complex business landscape with continuous development is essential.

  • Relevant master’s degree (e.g., finance, economics)
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience as a business/financial/projects controller or similar role, preferably from an international organization
  • Solid business understanding with strong analytical skills
  • Structured mindset with an eye for detail and the ability to keep the bigger picture in view.
  • Adaptable, being able to change in response to new information and different/unexpected circumstances
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Works proactively and independently
