Engineering Manager

What you will be doing

• lead a cross-functional team, building customer facing products and cloud services
• work closely with product, design, data science, and commercial teams
• manage the team members’ career, expectations, performance
• own system architecture and solution design
• research technical and data impediments and help the team to remove roadblocks
• collaborate with other managers in Tech to raise the engineering and management standards across the department

Your profile and experience

• You are a team player; you enjoy learning from and improving the people around you.
• You have a good understanding of modern cloud-based SaaS and web applications.
• You have more than five years of experience in software development, working previously as a Senior Developer or Tech Lead.
• You can review a PR or compile a SQL query if needed.
• You have at least two years of experience leading and managing software development teams in an engineering manager or a similar role.
• You take a proactive approach to learning about software development and management.
• You are fluent in English: oral and written.
• You are located (or willing to relocate) near Oslo (Norway) – we will help you with relocation.

• Relevant higher education.
• Technical competence:
  • Experience building cloud solutions with AWS.
  • Experience writing in Python and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with DBs like SnowFlake, PostgreSql.
  • Expertise in data engineering and DBT.
• Experience mentoring and coaching engineers.
