The Emerging Propositions CX department is responsible for all customer-facing experiences of these high potential propositions.


As an Engineer Manager, you will be leading a cross-functional team of 6 to 8 software engineers responsible for creating tailored experiences for distinct needs of Emerging Propositions customers. You will be responsible for operational excellence and extension of some of the local premises needed in Emerging Propositions. Together with Principal Engineers you will be partnering with the platform teams to build a long term relationship and trust thanks to your great communication and collaboration skills. As you are mainly contributing to design and development of other premises, you are expected to reduce ambiguity for your team members by providing direction and context. You will benefit from the experience in a larger company with specialists organised in technical communities.

  • Team Leadership: You will lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster their professional growth and maximise their potential. You will be responsible for hiring top engineering talent, and fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.

You will actively support them to find new opportunities to demonstrate their skills in multiple aspects. Finally you will represent your team’s engineers in the Talent Reviews and promotion readiness committee to evaluate their performance and explain why they are ready to get promoted

  • Driving customer innovation: You will create a culture of innovation that welcomes new ideas and experimentation from anyone to your team. You help your team to understand customer problems and guide people on how to navigate a time-boxed experiment with a fail fast mindset.

  • Project Management: You will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects within the scope of your team & department. This includes creating execution plans, identifying dependencies, allocating resources, and managing timelines and risks to ensure successful project completion.

  • Technical Excellence: You will drive technical excellence within the team by promoting best practices, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. You will also stay up to date with industry trends and technologies, and promote continuous learning and development within the team.

  • Collaboration and Communication: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, Designers, Product Analytics and stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure that technical solutions align with business goals. You will also communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Stakeholder Management: You will build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, actively engaging with them to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure their satisfaction with the delivered solutions.

  • Continuous Improvement: You will drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging feedback, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing processes or tools that enhance team efficiency and productivity.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • You have great knowledge in one of our main programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Swift), AWS, API designs and microservices.

  • You have a proven track record of running cross-functional engineering teams and structure them to work efficiently

  • You are passionate about customer problems, solution space, innovations and experimentation

  • You have a passion for people’s career growth, you are a great listener and coach. You know how to shape high quality conversations in 1on1s

  • You have practised operational excellence best practices

  • You are experienced in project management and delivering software projects on time and within budget.

  • You have sense of ownership and analytical thinking add to your excellent communication skills (fluent in written & spoken English is a must) and willingness to share knowledge within and outside the team
