About the Role

At Uber Eats, we're not just delivering food-we're building the infrastructure that connects people to the things they need, when and where they need them. Whether it's a late-night snack, groceries for the week, or essentials for your home, our team is building the technology that powers every order.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager II to join our Eats Engineering team in Denmark. This team owns the catalog and inventory systems that serve as the foundation of the Uber Eats experience globally. These systems power merchant integrations, support our local graph and recommendations, and are built for scalability and high availability to meet global demand.

Join us in redefining what local commerce looks like-beyond food.

What You Will Do
  • Lead with impact: Drive strategy and execution of the catalog and inventory roadmap in collaboration with product, design, and operations teams.
  • Build a world-class team: Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers.
  • Deliver at scale: Own the design and operation of highly scalable, reliable systems that support millions of users around the world.
  • Shape engineering culture: Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and strong ownership.
  • Innovate beyond food: Help define the future of local commerce as Uber Eats expands into new verticals like grocery, retail, and more.

Basic Qualifications
  • 12+ years in the industry with a minimum of 4+ years of engineering leadership experience, with a strong track record of managing and developing engineers of all levels.
  • Deep experience in backend systems engineering, especially building and scaling mission-critical systems.
  • Proven ability to ship customer-facing products and collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams.
  • Strong team leadership: setting clear goals, giving thoughtful feedback, and supporting career growth.
  • Passion for hiring top-tier talent and building high-performance teams.
  • Solid engineering practices, with strong opinions on code quality, testing, and delivery speed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in e-commerce, grocery, or catalog platforms.
  • Skilled at integrating with third-party APIs and designing robust external APIs.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
  • Proven success influencing across teams and functions, driving large-scale technical initiatives.
