Description:
Who Are CPP?

CPP is a leading high-voltage infrastructure provider, connecting renewable energy projects to Australia’s electricity grid.

As a member of Quanta Services, a Fortune 500 company ranked #192 on the NYSX, we specialise in the design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of substations, transmission lines, wind farms, and battery storage systems.

Established in 1996, we’ve connected more wind farms and renewable batteries than any other company. With over 750 employees and offices in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and recently Perth, we partner with Australia’s major transmission providers to deliver innovative, end-to-end solutions.

Join us in shaping the future of energy.

Design & Engineering

CPP has the largest in-house design and engineering team of any contractor in Australia, with over 170 specialists across Electrical Primary and Secondary, Civil, Structural, and SCADA disciplines. We provide end-to-end engineering solutions for high-voltage infrastructure, including nationally significant transmission projects, HV substations, wind farms and battery storage systems that drive Australia’s renewable energy transition.

Our engineers work closely with construction and operations teams, ensuring designs are practical, constructible, and continually refined through real-world feedback. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, we deliver solutions that support a stable, reliable, and sustainable energy future.

A rare opportunity to join the senior leadership team at an industry-leading company, having significant influence on business direction, engineering strategy, and future capability, delivering high‑voltage substations, transmission lines, and renewable balance of plant projects that support the growth of Australia’s renewable energy and utility sectors.

As part of CPP's growth, we're expanding our operations and engineering capability into Perth and WA. This is a greenfield leadership role where you will build the WA engineering team and function from the ground up, by shaping culture, setting standards and establishing the capability required to support a growing portfolio of work in the region.

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager of Engineering, you will be accountable for establishing a high-performing engineering function in WA that is aligned to CPP's values and engineering governance, while partnering closely with the broader business to support safe, high-quality project delivery. You will also work alongside the recently appointed General Manager of WA Operations, who is establishing a local operations team in Perth.

Key focus areas include:
  • Build & lead a new WA Engineering function: Set direction, and develop a cohesive team that is resourced and working effectively together with the wider business, with a strong emphasis on leadership and capability uplift.
  • Engineering delivery & governance: Oversee design outcomes and engineering governance to ensure high‑quality, compliant deliverables across substation and related infrastructure works.
  • Standards, improvement & innovation: Drive engineering consistency, best practice and continuous improvement aligned with Australian standards and CPP ways of working.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders; act as a trusted escalation point and ensure customer needs are understood and met through design outcomes.
  • Tendering & growth support: Participate in the tendering process and take accountability for engineering inputs and technical review across relevant tender documentation.
  • National integration: Work closely with interstate engineering and delivery stakeholders to ensure WA is connected into CPP’s broader engineering capability and leadership rhythm (travel to offices/sites may be required).
