Engineering Project Assistant

About the opportunity

Pan Pac’s Pulp division is a large scale manufacturer and provides mechanical wood pulp to customers across New Zealand and in 11 different countries. As the Engineering Project Assistant, you’ll be immersed in a blend of office and hands-on plant-based work, contributing to exciting projects that make a real impact.

Key projects you will be involved with include:

• Installing new valve tags throughout the plant
• Assigning and applying labels to pipes and chests for better identification
• Creating a new P&ID drawing for the pulpmill's potable water system
• Keeping our P&ID-based equipment register up to date
• Leading the project to install spring-loaded hinged gates on all chemical bund entrances
• Building and maintaining a PPE signage database

This full-time, fixed-term role offers you the chance to grow your skills over 2 months, working Monday to Friday at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier.

About you

You are self-motivated with high levels of energy to get the job done.

You also have:

• strong computer skills, experience with visio would be beneficial
• experience with administrative tasks
• proven attention to detail
• strong health & safety awareness
• proven time management skills
• experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment would be beneficial
• good communication skills
• a willingness to learn
