Entry-Level Carpenter – 4BM Construction LLC
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Carpenter to join our construction team. In this role, you will support experienced carpenters with a variety of tasks including site preparation, material handling, basic carpentry, and installation work. You will have the opportunity to develop hands-on skills, learn how to use tools and read blueprints, and gain experience in structural framing and finish work—all while helping to maintain a safe and efficient job site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Preparation:
Clear work areas, set up safety barriers, and prepare materials for construction projects.
- Material Handling:
Load, unload, store, and transport materials to and from the work area.
- Basic Carpentry Support:
Assist with cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other building materials using hand and power tools under supervision.
- Installation Assistance:
Support the installation of doors, windows, framing, and other structural components.
- Learning and Skill Development:
Learn new techniques and trade skills from experienced carpenters; take initiative to grow within the trade.
- Reading Blueprints:
Begin developing the ability to interpret basic construction drawings and project specifications.
- Safety and Tool Maintenance:
Use appropriate safety gear, maintain tools and equipment, and follow all safety procedures.
- Clean-Up and Organization:
Keep the job site clean, organized, and free of debris; properly dispose of waste materials.
- Team Communication:
Collaborate with team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with hand and power tools such as hammers, drills, saws, and measuring devices
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks
- Manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions precisely
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow in the carpentry trade
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
