Role: Environmental & Compliance Officer

Location: Preston - nationwide travel required

Hours: Mon - Fri 42.75 per week

Salary: Competitive depending on experience + Car Allowance

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Environmental and Compliance Officer to join our established HSEQ team. Reporting to the Environmental & Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we are “industry-leading” when it comes to managing and minimising our impact on the environment, helping to develop a culture of continuous in environmental management.

The Business:

Global Ardour Recycling Limited are a national recycling and waste management business, operating sites nationwide to offer services to recycle scrap metal, scrap cars and much more. We’re industry leaders, developing ground-breaking Energy from Waste technologies. We’re also one of the country’s largest scrap car recyclers, processing up to 10,000 every month across our sites. Some your key responsibilities:

• To maintain and update emergency management plans for all sites
• To manage all operational licenses within the business
• To collate the quarterly waste return information for submission to the Environment Agency
• Ensure all waste carrier license information is accurate and up to date on FRED
• Act as competent advisor for internal and external queries
• To build strong working relationships with key stakeholders
• Co-ordinate and monitor emissions compliance
• All key aspects of the Environmental officer role
• Ensure quarterly environmental audits are completed in full and actions tracked to closure
• Regular site liaison and support on the ground

The successful candidate:

• Extensive experience working within the recycling and waste management industry.
• Excellent technical knowledge of legislation relevant to the recycling of metal and general waste
• Full UK drivers licence
