Environmental Health And Safety Manager
Job Description:
Indorama Ventures- Intermediate Chemicals is currently looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Lake Charles, LA. This position will report to the Indovinya Sr. EHS Manager, North America and to the Lake Charles Site Manager and site leadership team. As the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, coordinating, managing, and maintaining all Lake Charles site programs and activities within the EHS Department to ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations, as well as Corporate and Division standards. You will also participate in other non-EHS site-based activities as needed to improve performance in areas of safety, environmental, cost control, capital deployment, and manage an annual environmental and health and safety department budgets.
What will be expected from you?
  • Manage sites’ safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, occupational health, emergency response, and security programs.
  • Ensure the site provides a safe and environmentally compliant facility for our employees and surrounding communities.
  • Establish and manage site EHS priorities, initiatives, goals, and improvement plans.
  • Implement Indovinya EHS policies & procedures to promote the Indorama Environmental and Sustainability policies.
  • Champion the site Sustainability program.
  • Lead site Safety Champions Committee.
  • Administer site EHS procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations; ensure policies and procedures are reviewed and audited in accordance with established schedule.
  • Ensure completion and timely submittal of regulatory compliance submittals, reports, and notifications with oversight of the site’s environmental permits.
  • Continued development of programs ensuring compliance with environmental regulatory requirements and sustainability performance improvements.
  • Continuously improves safety condition and lead investigations of accidents, injuries, and hazards.
  • Site lead for internal and/or regulatory agency audits or during site visits.
  • Develop and improve upon Environmental Health & Safety training initiatives.
  • Monthly compilation and analysis of KPI data to ensure compliance with EHS regulatory requirements and EHS management systems.
  • Manage and develop technical professionals through formal and informal professional development, coaching, annual PDP plans and training protocols that maintain & expand levels of expertise.
  • Ensure completion of regulatory permitting projects for facility Capital upgrade and/or expansions.
  • Implement and manages ACC Responsible Care program for environmental and safety aspects and goals.
  • Function as the Management Sponsor and oversees the development, implementation, and on-going practices for the site’s Environmental Management Systems.
  • Actively participate in associations and committees relevant to EHS (e.g., mutual aid, H&S networks, environmental networks, community advisory panel, etc.).
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environment Science, Engineering or Related Field and 10+ years of experience.
  • Experienced in management of a facility Environmental, Health and Safety staff.
  • Experience in oversight of Emergency Response and Security Programs.
  • Experience with LDEQ Regulator interactions preferred.
  • Experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety at chemical or petrochemical facilities required.
  • CSP, CHMM, and/or CIH certifications preferred.
  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficient in Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Proficient in EHS and RC14001 management system requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communications, including the ability to effectively present to both large and small groups.
