Environmental Scientist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental science and demonstrate a passion for research and data analysis. This role involves conducting field studies, performing laboratory analyses, and utilizing advanced software tools to assess environmental conditions and impacts. The Environmental Scientist will play a crucial role in developing strategies for environmental protection and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys and collect environmental samples for analysis.
  • Perform laboratory tests to evaluate soil, water, and air quality.
  • Analyze data using statistical methods and software tools such as Python and ArcGIS.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports detailing research findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on various environmental projects.
  • Utilize GIS technology for mapping and spatial analysis of environmental data.
  • Stay updated on environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Assist in the development of environmental management plans.

Skills

  • Strong laboratory skills with experience in conducting scientific experiments.
  • Must have a Bachelors Degree
  • Mechanical knowledge to understand equipment used in fieldwork.
  • Proficient data analysis skills to interpret complex datasets effectively.
  • Research-oriented mindset with the ability to design and implement studies.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for clear communication of findings.
  • Knowledge of GIS principles to support spatial analysis tasks.
  • Experience or interest in gardening as it relates to environmental sustainability.
  • Ability to use GPS technology for accurate location tracking during fieldwork.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Required)

Experience:

  • Environmental Scientist: 1 year (Preferred)
  • water sampling: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Required)
